Editorial Models, Music, & Designer Granola Bars

That’s me! In a five page editorial spread in a fashion and music magazine! What!? How?!

I’ll tell you how.

Emails

If in my future, I am ever giving a talk on the entertainment industry, my biggest piece of advice would be to send as many emails in a week as ounces of water you drink in a day. Memorize it my dear Forest Friends.

Water Intake oz/day = Emails sent/week

Somewhere in the corners of social media or the depths of Gmail, there is a model who can’t make the shoot because her dog’s groomer’s uncle died and only YOU can fill that vacancy with your speedy typing skills and politely persistent positivity. Jokes aside, you will only get re-booked if you perform well on set, have a good energy, and match the look book. But emails are the secret sauce that no model-vlogger-bts video will share with you. There are those who take a stroll in times-square and are scouted by an agency… and then there are those who bake every crew member their favorite pie, offer to work the front desk for freelance representation, and make social media videos until Nike finds them and hires them as the “quirky” model. Both are valid ways for a model to break-in. Only one of those models will have a good sense of humor.

When you work for a brand, there is often a certain amount of promotional gifting involved. Are my cabinets now stuffed with organic, suburban-mom made granola bars? Yes. Is my fridge well-stocked with locally sourced maple water? Also yes. Is there a designer collection of athleisure wear in my pajama drawer? Triple yes. Can I afford health insurance when I turn 26? If the stocks on maple water do really well.

OUT NOW EVERYWHERE

My second EDM music release “THE AIMLESS EP” is now available for streaming on all platforms! These tracks capture my inner world in 21/22. There’s frustration in the pumping title track AIMLESS, dissociation in the lo-fi break FORESTS OF MEMORY, and stubborn hope heard in GREEN. Endlessly gaze out your windows friends.

The Forest Friends Playlist got a little makeover this month to fit our July theme: whimsical wonder. Listen to lo-fi creations inspired by hit cartoons like Steven Universe, Centaurworld, and Bee & Puppycat. Pairs well with strolls in the woods at sunset. Lost in my latest podcast discovery Cinema Possessed, a discussion on Jim Henson brought forth a desire to keep the child-like playfulness alive, even as we slough through days with hazardous air-quality and adult responsibilities.
