Cozy Weather Respite
Having collected a bounty of books to read, a cabinet full of snacks, and so much tea I had to leave some behind, many would say I am well stocked for a cozy winter. Yet it’s not enough. I still intend to increase my candle supply 30%, go thrift store sweater shopping, and plant my feet somewhere where the snow sticks to the earth and the pines grow tall.
Muggles Mug - Wizard world themed cafe that doesn’t go overboard on the fandom in Jim Thorpe, PA. Just the right amount of magic without feeling like you’re at a theme park.
Queer Candle Co. - still my favorite homemade soy candle sellers in New York. And yes they are affordable. This isn’t the Goop blog.
Lofi Girl - You know her and love her. Romanticizing your winter requires a soundtrack.
Yoga With Adriene CENTER Challenge - I took on Adriene’s 30 day yoga journey last winter when I moved to the city. That year it happened to aptly be titled “Move”. This year her theme is “Center” and I’ve roped my mom, aunt, and sister in law to take the journey with me.
Scentimental Journey - It wouldn’t be a cozy post without multiple candle shops. My friend gifted me a blueberry pie shaped candle that smells as good as it is adorable to look at.
Articles of Interest - A podcast about the history of fashion. With seven episodes just released on American preppiness, you’ll finally understand why the polo shirt is never going away.
I had an extremely outgoing December. I planned it that way. I had all this stored up energy and I wanted to see every light display, bar hop across the boroughs, and still work six days a week. Of course I was exhausted once I finally made it back north to New England. Now my mind craves introversion and reflection. If I don’t respond to that instagram DM right away, please take heart in knowing I’m most likely one hour deep into a three hour reading session by my digital Netflix fireplace. As such, I want to dedicate the rest of this entry to some cozy recommendations.
